Former National Traffic Officer Koos Spee presented Han Blokland, CEO ENGIE Nederland, with the Driving Safely and Sustainably quality mark. Organisations that qualify for this official CSR quality mark have demonstrated measurable improvements in sustainable and safe mobility.

e-Driver - Veilig rijden met minimale CO2-uitstoot.

Why did ENGIE choose e-Driver?

ENGIE is proud that sustainability is ingrained in its employees’ DNA – even when on the road. Commitment to sustainable driving helps the green energy supplier achieve its sustainability targets even faster. ENGIE aims to minimise its carbon footprint and lower its CO2 emissions. The company is therefore continuously monitoring and reducing its impact on the environment. Blokland says: ‘We want to ensure that the planet remains habitable for future generations. Our purpose is to invest in sustainable growth with respect for people and the environment. In a remarkably short period, e-Driver has helped us reduce fuel consumption by 2.4 per cent and CO2 emissions by 127 metric tons.’

Tangible results

Blokland explains: ‘Although we only introduced the e-Driver programme just before Christmas, ENGIE managed to meet all the requirements to attain the level 1 Driving Safely and Sustainably quality mark in just three months. After six months, ENGIE attained level 2 accreditation. An amazing achievement – this level is usually only awarded after being on the programme for a year.’

‘In a remarkably short period, we have been able to cut fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.’
